Lost Portrait of Elite Indian Woman by Scottish Painter Katherine Read Rediscovered

Art researchers have discovered a lost and reportedly enormously important portrait of an elite Indian woman painted by pioneering Scottish artist Katherine Read. Read was one of London's most fashionable portrait painters before moving to India, where she became known for her portrayals of women and children.
