Willow Avalon mixes country with feminist politics on debut album Pink Pocket Pistol

Willow Avalon, a Georgia-born singer who describes herself as a "gun-totin' liberal", has released her debut album Pink Pocket Pistol. The record centres on strong Southern women and the disposal of bad men, with Avalon saying she is "obsessed with really strong, sassy, Southern women".
