US activist faces federal charges after wiping phone at border
Atlanta resident Samuel Tunick faces federal charges after wiping his Pixel phone running GrapheneOS when US customs agents demanded access to it at an international airport in early 2025. He used a "duress code" feature of the software to erase all data. His legal team alleges he was targeted because of his activism with the group Defend the Atlanta Forest.
