Pope's Click To Pray app exposed 700,000+ user emails in security breach

White-hat hacker BobDaHacker revealed on July 24 that the Vatican's official Click To Pray app — promoted by Pope Francis since 2019 — had serious security flaws exposing the email addresses of over 700,000 users. The vulnerabilities stemmed from rudimentary server-side code. The Vatican only patched the holes after BobDaHacker went public; earlier reports made since January had gone unanswered.
