Cloudflare to block AI crawlers on ad-supported sites by default from September

Starting in September, Cloudflare will by default block AI agent and training crawlers on new domains displaying ads, arguing that publishers need human visitors to generate advertising revenue. The company will classify AI traffic into three categories: search, agent and training. A key challenge remains multipurpose crawlers like Googlebot, which do not fit neatly into any category and could in the worst case be blocked entirely, harming publishers and Cloudflare's own customers.
