Metaplanet Eyes 4–6% Bitcoin-Backed 'Bitbonds' in New Brokerage Deal

Japanese investment firm Metaplanet is planning to issue bitcoin-backed bonds, dubbed "Bitbonds," with an interest rate of 4–6%. The company ultimately envisions moving the bonds on-chain with stablecoin settlement. Analysts at Benchmark said a recent brokerage deal "badly undersells" Metaplanet's full ambitions for the project.
