Minister Nowacka halts closure of children's holiday homes after protests

Plans to close Poland's network of children's holiday homes (Domy Wczasów Dziecięcych) triggered protests from facility directors, trade unions and local governments, who argued that student dormitories cannot replace them. Education Minister Barbara Nowacka has now put the closure decision on hold.
