Vienna's historic centre removed from UNESCO endangered heritage list

UNESCO's World Heritage Committee, meeting at its 48th session in Busan, South Korea, decided on Monday to remove Vienna's historic city centre from its list of endangered World Heritage sites. Vienna had been placed on the list due to a controversial high-rise development project in the city centre. The removal signals that the threat to the site's outstanding universal value has been successfully addressed.
