US bunker-busters can't penetrate Iran's Pickaxe Mountain base
Iran has constructed an underground military base beneath Pickaxe Mountain, shielded by volcanic rock capable of withstanding 21,000 to 43,000 pounds per square inch of pressure. This makes the facility impervious to US bunker-buster munitions, which cannot penetrate that depth and density of rock. The base is considered one of the most fortified military installations in the world.
