Russia's State Duma sets record with 2,980 repressive laws in four years
State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin announced at the final plenary session on 27 July that the eighth convocation of the Duma passed 2,980 laws in just over four years — a record in modern Russian history for the number of repressive laws. The eighth convocation's term ended on 27 July.
