Spotify flooded with AI music slop — users start tracking it themselves

Spotify is struggling with a flood of AI-generated music, and users have taken it upon themselves to identify and track it after the platform failed to act. One example is Slime Dot, an R&B "artist" from Las Vegas with over 100,000 monthly listeners who turned out to be an AI avatar — GQ initially published a credulous interview before adding a correction. AI music generators like Suno and Udio have made it trivially easy to flood streaming platforms with synthetic tracks.
