Parents petition to restore children's neuro-oncology ward in Katowice
Parents of children with cancer are collecting signatures calling for the restoration of brain tumour and solid tumour treatment at the Upper Silesian Centre for Child Health in Katowice. After the merger of wards in Katowice and Zabrze, some specialists refused to work at the new facility, leaving young neuro-oncology patients referred as far as Warsaw and Łódź. Parents warn that the long distances worsen the situation of seriously ill children.
