Polish government eyes new windfall tax on fuel firms after presidential veto

Deputy Energy Minister Wojciech Wrochna said the government is considering introducing a permanent windfall tax on fuel companies following the president's effective veto of the existing bill. He did not rule out a new legislative proposal this year, though stressed that tax matters fall under the Finance Ministry. He added that gas companies could also be covered by future legislation.
