AstraZeneca CEO warns West must innovate at "Chinese speed"

AstraZeneca chief executive Pascal Soriot warned that US and European pharmaceutical companies risk being outpaced by Chinese rivals, just as the western car industry was. Speaking publicly, he called on the western pharma sector to accelerate innovation and operate at "Chinese speed." AstraZeneca is also collaborating with Chinese partners to bring drugs to global markets.
