Soldier acquitted for border shootings — prosecution appeals verdict

Prosecutors have appealed against the acquittal of 25-year-old soldier Karol S., who was charged with abuse of authority. In March 2024, he fired 12 shots from his service weapon at the Polish-Belarusian border, in an area where migrants and other officers were present. The soldier pleaded not guilty throughout the proceedings.
