Gdynia's Modernist Centre Added to UNESCO World Heritage List

UNESCO has inscribed the modernist city centre of Gdynia on its World Heritage List, approved during the 48th World Heritage Committee session in Busan, South Korea. It is Poland's 18th World Heritage site. UNESCO praised the city's "urban organism" built on a block-based planning approach with a compact complex of modernist architecture. The designation coincides with Gdynia marking the centenary of its city rights.
