Berlin Pride attacker shot dead by police after killing one person

German police shot dead a 21-year-old man with a history of Islamist extremist activity, one day after he allegedly drove a minivan into a crowd in Berlin's Tiergarten park near the Brandenburg Gate. The Saturday night attack occurred around 10 pm, close to the Christopher Street Day celebrations — one of Europe's biggest annual LGBTQ events — and killed one person. The suspect was shot dead by police on Sunday.
