Over half of Americans don't want AI data centers near their homes

More than half of Americans say they would not want an AI data center built in their neighborhood, according to an Ipsos survey conducted for Redfin. AI infrastructure ranked as the most unwanted type of development, ahead of all other investment types. Concerns likely center on noise, high energy and water consumption, and potential effects on property values.
