Google Maps on Android Auto loses traffic colour overlay

Users of Google Maps on Android Auto are reporting a bug that causes traffic colour indicators on routes to disappear, turning roads grey on the in-car display. The issue affects only the car screen — on smartphones the app continues to display traffic data correctly. Google has not yet announced a fix.
