US and 20+ allies launch global partnership to develop secure 6G networks

The Trump administration is launching a global partnership with more than 20 allies — including the UK, Germany and Japan — to accelerate the development of secure 6G wireless networks. The initiative will coordinate participating governments' 6G strategies years ahead of the technology's expected rollout in the 2030s, establishing contact points, sharing technical resources and laying groundwork for commercial deployment. The move is part of Washington's broader effort to counter China's influence over next-generation telecommunications.
