Foreign EV driver fined in Zakopane — green plates required for free parking
A driver of a foreign-registered electric vehicle received a parking fine in Zakopane despite leaving a note on the windscreen explaining the situation to traffic wardens. In Poland, electric cars are exempt from paid-parking zones, but only if they carry the distinctive green licence plates issued for EVs in Poland. Foreign EVs do not have such plates and are therefore treated the same as conventional cars when it comes to parking charges.
