Edinburgh becomes first Scottish city to introduce a tourist tax
Edinburgh has become the first city in Scotland to introduce a tourist tax, applying to all paid accommodation including hotels, guesthouses, hostels and short-term rentals. The charge applies for a maximum of five consecutive nights and remains the same rate year-round.
