NSW police push back on arming Jewish security group, citing fairness concerns

The deputy commissioner of New South Wales police has pushed back on calls to arm private security at Jewish events, warning it could be seen as "favouritism" towards one community. The royal commission into antisemitism and social cohesion is currently examining security arrangements for Jewish Australians, with some witnesses urging that the Community Security Group be armed following the Bondi terror attack. The hearings are taking place this week.
