Littler Retains World Matchplay Title with Record Average, Crushing Price 18-9
Luke Littler, 19, defeated Gerwyn Price 18-9 in the World Matchplay final in Blackpool to retain his title. His tournament average of 111.04 broke Phil Taylor's record of 106.31, and he hit 66 180s across the week — including 12 in the final. Littler became only the third man to successfully defend the Matchplay title, after Taylor and Michael van Gerwen (2016). In the women's final, Beau Greaves beat Fallon Sherrock to lift the title.
