Qualcomm planning double-digit chip price hike — smartphones set to cost more

Qualcomm is planning a double-digit percentage price hike on its chips for smartphones and other devices, Bloomberg reports. The higher component costs are expected to be passed on by phone manufacturers to consumers, pushing up retail prices of finished devices.
