AIG Women's Open: from £500 to £1.25m prize money in 50 years

When the AIG Women's Open launched 50 years ago, the entire prize fund was just £500 and the field was largely made up of amateurs. Today the purse stands at £1.25 million, making it the premier women's golf major. This year's edition is being held at Royal Lytham & St Annes.
