Poland's new Ombudsman Gregorczyk-Abram: I will ensure authorities respect the office's powers

Newly appointed Polish Ombudsman (Rzecznik Praw Obywatelskich) attorney Sylwia Gregorczyk-Abram told PAP she will use the full range of the office's powers and will not allow any government — regardless of who holds it — to ignore them. She named independent and robust action as her priority for the term, and declared that her personal views would be kept firmly out of her official role.
