Seven suspected H5 bird flu cases found in South Australian seabirds
Seven greater crested terns – a common Australian seabird – have been found sick or dead along South Australia's Limestone Coast, with suspected H5 bird flu. The birds were discovered near Cape Jaffa, Southend Jetty and Port MacDonald, the last just 20 km from the Victorian border. BirdLife Australia warns the discoveries are evidence the outbreak is now taking hold in local wildlife populations.
