Ben Carroll bids to replace Jacinta Allan as Victoria's premier

Ben Carroll, a minister in Victoria's Labor government, has confirmed he will challenge for the state Labor leadership, aiming to replace Premier Jacinta Allan. Elected to parliament in 2012, Carroll openly describes himself as always having been ambitious. He previously made an unsuccessful leadership bid in 2023 when then-Premier Daniel Andrews resigned.
