Polish potato growers in crisis: purchase price as low as 4.5 gr/kg, warehouses full
A growing number of Polish potato producers are cutting back on cultivation due to extremely low purchase prices. Marcin Gryn from Lublin voivodeship says he has almost entirely abandoned commercial potato production after selling part of last year's harvest to a biogas plant for just 4.5 groszy per kilogram. Farmers warn that production is no longer viable at such prices, with warehouses still full.
