Court upholds racial discrimination ruling against Pauline Hanson
An Australian court dismissed Pauline Hanson's appeal and upheld the finding that she engaged in racial discrimination against Greens senator Mehreen Faruqi. In September 2022, Hanson tweeted that Faruqi should "pack your bags and piss off back to Pakistan." Justice Angus Stewart had previously found the post to be "seriously offensive" and intimidating, in breach of the Racial Discrimination Act. Hanson had lodged her appeal in November, nearly a month after the original judgment.
