ZUS: no backdated support benefit for time spent waiting for WZON ruling
Poland's Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) has confirmed that people waiting months for a disability support level ruling will not receive backdated "świadczenie wspierające" payments for the waiting period. Only the date on which the regional disability board (WZON) formally assigns at least 70 support points matters for eligibility. Article 26(2) of the relevant law bars payments for any earlier period, a stance that remains contested given the length of proceedings.
