2010's 'Clash of the Titans' Becomes Streaming Hit 15 Years Later

The superhero genre witnessed a major tonal shift with Christopher Nolan 's epic The Dark Knight trilogy . After decades of colorful adventures, superheroes were presented in a grounded reality that captured the mood of the times. Similarly, Nolan put his stamp on the fantasy genre with his latest film, The Odyssey , based on Homer 's Greek epic. Earlier, movies based on the Greek myths featured plenty of monsters and mayhem, but Nolan's version revolved around themes such as post-traumatic stress, guilt, and human agency. That said, Nolan admitted that he was inspired by Ray Harryhausen 's cult classic 1981 movie, Clash of the Titans , which was remade in 2010 by Louis Leterrier .
