Tom Hanks' 'Greyhound' Sequel in Production, 'Toy Story 5' Nears $1B

2026 has been a huge year for Tom Hanks , who finally returned to his tenured role as Woody in Toy Story 5 , which is expected to be the third movie of the year to gross over $1 billion at the box office. Hanks also returned to the World War II genre to narrate a moving new docuseries, World War II with Tom Hanks , which is now streaming on the History Channel with more episodes still to come. Hanks has also been hard at work filming the sequel to one of his most underrated movies of his career, Greyhound , the WWII naval thriller that dropped on Apple TV back in 2020. No word yet on when the film will be released, but with production taking place throughout 2026, it’s a safe bet that the sequel will be released before the end of 2027.
