Israeli government backs international stabilisation force for Gaza

The Israeli government has endorsed the deployment of an international stabilisation force (ISF) in Gaza, to be staffed by soldiers from "friendly countries." The force would operate in areas outside Israeli military control. This represents one of Israel's first formal approvals for a foreign military presence in the territory.
