Wildfire in Ávila burns 50,000+ ha — Spain's largest on record

A wildfire in Spain's Ávila province has burned more than 50,000 hectares, making it the largest fire in the country's recorded history, according to ecological transition minister Sara Aagesen, cited by the EFE news agency. The blaze has also spread to the area around Madrid. Authorities confirmed the record scale of the disaster on Sunday.
