Polish minister vows no retirement age rise while Left remains in government

Polish Minister for Family, Labour and Social Policy Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk called a proposal to tie women's retirement age to the number of children they have "scandalous" and "cruel". She declared that as long as the Left party remains in the governing coalition, there will be no increase in the retirement age for either women or men. The idea has re-ignited public debate about pension reform in Poland.
