New PESEL law from 5 August links doctors' salaries to national ID numbers
Poland's so-called PESEL law comes into force on 5 August 2026, allowing the collection of data on doctors' salaries linked to their PESEL national ID number or professional registration number. The first salary data is to be gathered in September. The legislation aims to increase wage transparency in the healthcare sector.
