Nolan's 'The Odyssey' outpaces Oppenheimer's second weekend, on track to beat $975m record

After smashing projections in its opening weekend, Christopher Nolan 's latest epic, The Odyssey , is showing incredible resilience in its sophomore frame. The movie shattered the records of Nolan's The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises to deliver the biggest second-weekend haul of his illustrious career. The Odyssey dropped by just 29% this weekend , retaining the number one spot on the box office charts. By comparison, Ryan Coogler 's acclaimed horror film Sinners dropped by a mere 5% in its second weekend last year. Holds this strong are incredibly rare in this day and age; even Nolan's Oppenheimer fell by 43% in its second weekend. Word on the street is that The Odyssey is tracking to overtake not only Oppenheimer' s $975 million lifetime global haul, but also those of Nolan's second and third Batman movies.
