Near-miss at Boston Logan airport caused by air traffic controller error
On June 20, two passenger aircraft came dangerously close to each other at Boston Logan Airport. Preliminary findings by the National Transportation Safety Board indicate an air traffic controller cleared an American Airlines plane for takeoff while a Delta Air Lines aircraft was already on its approach to land. The incident was narrowly averted.
