Mount Olympus added to UNESCO World Heritage List

UNESCO's World Heritage Committee voted to inscribe Mount Olympus, Greece's highest mountain and mythical home of the gods, on its World Heritage List at a session in Busan, South Korea. The decision crowns 12 years of Greek efforts to have the mountain recognised as a unique cultural and natural site. Olympus is Greece's first site to receive dual cultural and natural heritage status.
