Bronze Age elite tomb in Armenia held horse sacrifice
Archaeologists at the Shamiram site in Armenia's Aragatsotn province have uncovered Tomb 3, dating to the Late Bronze Age — predating the kingdom of Urartu. The burial contained a sacrificed horse alongside weapons and ornaments belonging to a high-status individual. The find sheds new light on the funerary rituals of Bronze Age communities on the Armenian Highlands.
