Wildfires in France's Gironde: 2,500 Firefighters Deployed, Situation 'Very Unfavourable'
French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said on Sunday that the wildfire situation in southwestern France remains "very unfavourable" after another difficult night. A total of 2,500 firefighters — including a Swiss team — along with 1,500 military personnel and around 1,200 police officers have been deployed in the Gironde department. Nunez shared the update on X, calling it "another difficult night on the wildfire front."
