French wildfires: 220,000 evacuated as flames near Bordeaux

Massive wildfires in France's Gironde department have forced 220,000 people to evacuate their homes, with 55,000 displaced overnight Sunday alone. Authorities issued new evacuation orders for five localities southwest of Bordeaux as shifting winds and dry conditions hampered efforts to contain the blaze, which has been burning out of control since midweek.
