Poland blocks EU ETS reform, demands slower CO2 allowance phase-out

Poland will not agree to channelling part of EU ETS carbon allowance revenues into the EU budget, Deputy Climate Minister Krzysztof Bolesta told PAP. The government will also push for a slower phase-out of CO2 allowances from the market. Warsaw fears the proposed reform would transfer billions currently flowing into the Polish national budget to Brussels.
