ADHD in women: different symptoms and unique health risks go undetected

For decades ADHD was seen as a childhood condition affecting mainly boys, but researchers now know it manifests differently in girls and women — with internalising symptoms and masking rather than obvious hyperactivity. Many women remain undiagnosed until adulthood, leaving them exposed to unique health risks. Scientists are calling for better recognition and diagnosis of ADHD in women and girls.
