Normandy D-Day beaches added to UNESCO World Heritage List

The D-Day landing beaches in Normandy, northwestern France, were added to UNESCO's World Heritage List on Sunday. The 80-kilometre stretch of coastline was the site of the Allied landings in June 1944, a decisive moment in the defeat of Nazi Germany.
