Media expert: politicians treat public media as a tool of power

Prof. Tadeusz Kowalski, a media scholar and member of the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT), says politicians treat public media as an instrument of power while the Finance Ministry views them purely as revenue-generating enterprises. Funding through ad-hoc budget subsidies is, in his view, one of the worst possible financing models. Work on a public media law appears stalled, deepening the systemic crisis.
