Merz after Berlin attack: "Disgusting act" — vows severe punishment

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz condemned Saturday's van attack on Berlin's Pride parade as a "disgusting act" and pledged full investigation and severe punishment for the perpetrator. The suspect, 21-year-old Abdul B., drove a van into the crowd, killing one woman and injuring 16 others. He had previously been known to police as a member of Berlin's Islamist scene.
