77% of UK firms will require AI skills from all non-tech workers within a year

A report by HiBob found that 77% of UK organisations expect AI proficiency to become a baseline requirement across most non-technical roles within the next year. While 82% of companies are investing in AI upskilling programmes, 80% are simultaneously recruiting candidates who already have strong AI skills. The question of who bears responsibility for training workers — employers or employees — remains hotly contested.
